Scout Canoe Challenge

Scouts (boys and girls) and
Venturers, are invited to enter tandem teams in open canoes for races conducted
in the tidal section of the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg,
Virginia. These races will be held in
conjunction with the Great Rappahannock Whitewater Canoe Race, and the American
Canoe Association (ACA) Middle States Divisional Whitewater Championships.
Teams will race from Old Mill Park to
the Route 3 Bridge and return (about 2 miles of moving flat water). A mass start will be used and each Unit may
enter as many as two teams in each class. There will be three classes offered;
youth male, youth female, and youth mixed.
Medals will be awarded for each class.
There will be a practice session @
7:00PM on 5 June at Old Mill Park. Old Town Canoes are provided for all teams
for this race. Please note that if you
